For the last year, The Toronto Star has had a feature called "The Diet Decoder". The premise being that Megan Ogilvie tries a new diet every week and reports back on her experience with the various diets. It has been an interesting read, and
the results of her year-long experiment are hardly surprising. In the end, the diets that worked the best and had the most support from deiticians were the ones that preached moderation (portion control) rather than elimination of the consumption of certain foods. Additionally, they preached balance and variety.
These are healthy principles to live by regardless of whether or not you are looking to lose weight.
